We have teamed up with The Great Escape Festival in Brighton www.escapegreat.com and Stephen Budd Management www.record-producers.com and are pleased to be able to offer the 'Local Hero' two great prizes.
The Great Escape has established itself as the leading event in Europe for showcasing new talent from around the world, aimed at 'export ready' bands and Industry Professionals. The winning band from the ‘Local Hero’ competition will be offered a slot at next year’s The Great Escape festival. TGE takes place in Brighton, UK over three days and nights every May with a total attendance of over 10,000 people. A variety of insightful industry talks, panel debates and celebrity interviews are run alongside performances from 200 new local and international artists, themed parties and club nights in over 25 different venues.

Stephen Budd Management are also offering the winning band the chance to spend a day in the rehearsal studio with top record producer Greg Haver or to have a track mixed by Grammy Award winning mixer Simon Gogerly. SBM is one of Europe’s leading producer management companies and represents around 20 top level songwriters, producers and mixers including Tore Johansson (Franz Ferdinand, The Cardigans, OK Go, Martha Wainwright), Mike Hedges (Travis, The Cure, Dido, Everything But The Girl) and James Lewis (Cajun Dance Party, The Wombats, The On Offs, Arctic Monkeys). Greg Haver has produced bands including Manic Street Preachers, INME, Super Furry Animals and Catatonia amongst many others. Simon Gogerly has worked with U2, Operator Please, Gwen Stefani, Massive Attack, N.E.R.D., P Diddy and Soul II Soul and is one of the UK’s top mixers. The winning band would have the opportunity either to spend a day in the rehearsal studio with Greg going through a number of their songs in detail and benefitting from his experience and input into arrangement and production or to have one of their tracks mixed by Simon Gogerly. They may even get the chance to go on and record a track with one of them at a later date.
